熊谷次郎直実は、1193年（建久4年）に黒谷の法然上人を訪ね、
方丈裏の池にて鎧を洗い、松の木に鎧を掛けて出家したという。


熊谷直実（1141-1208）
源頼朝に仕えた御家人。1184年（寿永3年）、一ノ谷の戦いで敵将平敦盛を討ち取るが、
我が子ほどの年齢の若武者の命を奪ったことに無常観を感じ、のちに法然に弟子入りして出家した。
